Volunteer Lead (Part-Time)

At OTR, volunteers are the bedrock of our programmes and outreach initiatives. Driven by their dedication and enthusiasm for serving the community, they inspire others to join and empower people to live their lives with a purpose! And that’s why our Volunteer Lead plays such an important role in OTR! This position demands a proactive and driven candidate, as you will be collaborating with a varied group of volunteers, business partners, and stakeholders to implement, manage, and drive programmes and events to uplift the lives of our youth.

OTR Volunteer Lead (Part-time) – Position Summary

Volunteer Management 

  • Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy based on OTR’s needs and identify volunteer opportunities that match volunteers’ areas of interest and expertise.
  • Review and manage volunteer opportunities, volunteer training, and orientation programmes.
  • Lead in the recruitment process, including screening, interviewing, and matching of volunteers.
  • Maintain up to date volunteer database
  • Identify emerging trends in volunteerism and volunteer management; apply and adopt volunteer strategies as appropriate.
  • Increase volunteer retention through engagement and networking initiatives, focusing on more support, recognition, and communication.
  • Seek regular feedback from volunteers to improve experience and retention.

Event Management 

  • Provide logistic support for various OTR events and workshops, including event set-up, registration, and other duties as needed.
  • Organise networking events that celebrate volunteers’ commitment and contribution, keeping them engaged and connected with OTR’s work across the breadth of the charity.
  • Coordinate with venue and service providers and key members of OTR staff to ensure the successful execution of events.

Skills & Requirements

  • Degree holder with a minimum 5 years of working experience in social work, communications, marketing, or event management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people, preferably with experience working with volunteers for charities, communities, and institutional settings.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be an empathetic listener with good interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable, flexible with working hours and able to work on weekends, if needed.
  • Able to fulfil up to 20 hours per week.
